Cancellation and Refund Policy

1.

The enrolment fee, accommodation placement fee and airport pickup fee are not refundable under any circumstances, including visa rejection.

2.

If a student is refused a visa for study or for an extension of study in Australia, the tuition fees, materials fee and the homestay accommodation fee will be refunded in full within 4 weeks after receiving a written claim from the student, provided that all original documents and an original letter form the Australian Embassy, High Commission of Immigration Office is supplied to UBC.

3.
If a student cancels their course no later than 28 days before it is due to commence, the enrolment fee plus 30% of the tuition fee will be forfeited.

If a student cancels their course 28 days or less before it is due to commence, the enrolment fee plus 50% of the tuition fee will be forfeited.
5.
No refund will be given to any student who cancels once a course has commenced.
6. A student is only allowed to defer commencement or suspend studies of a course on medical grounds (with a doctor's certificate) or other exceptional compassionate circumstances.
7. Where a student defers commencement or suspends on any other grounds, UBC must report the student to DIMA via PRISMS, as not complying with visa conditions.
8.
No refund will be given to any student who breaches their visa conditions or fails to meet course requirements.
9.
Students taking package courses that involve an ELICOS course as a prerequisite to a UBC course, will be considered UBC students from the commencement of their period of study in Australia.
10.
When students are enrolled in package courses, NO REFUND will be granted in the event of a cancellation or withdrawal on the second course after the course commencement date of the first course.
11.
UBC will not authorise the transfer of fees to any other institution or any other student account.
12.
If a student completes the course early or fast-tracks, the full tuition fee and the materials fees must be paid before any certification is issued.
13.
If a student extends their course, they will be subject to additional fees and those fees must be paid before any certification is issued.
14.
If a student changes courses after commencement of the course in which they were originally enrolled, they will be subject to the current fee structure. Students are also subject to pay a new materials fee due prior to commencement of their new course.
15.
Should UBC be unable to offer the course for which the student has enrolled, all monies paid to UBC, including the enrolment fee, will be refunded within 2 weeks after UBC defaulting on the intended course in which the student has enrolled.
16. In the case of a default (by the student and or provider) on a course by Uniworld Business College, we will give the student a statement that explains how the monies for a refund have been worked out.
17.
Students who wish to apply for a refund should do so in writing and address to the Registrar, Uniworld Business College, PO Box K1311 Haymarket, NSW 1240, Australia.
18.
This agreement does not remove the right to take further action under Australia's consumer protection laws. UBC's dispute resolution processes do not circumscribe the student's right to pursue other legal remedies. For details refer to Sections 43-44 of the National Code, and Sections 27-32 of the ESOS Act 2000 .
19.
Students must be aware that personal information may be made available by UBC to Commonwealth and State agencies and the ESOS Assurance Fund Manager (Section 51 of the National Code ).
